An Adaptation Table has been established through the Climate Action Response Team (CART) to coordinate departmental efforts, create efficiencies in resources and data sharing, support external funding opportunities and advance adaptation and resiliency actions for the Region’s assets, services and operations.
Participated in the Municipal Net-Zero Action Research Partnership (N-ZAP) climate budgeting cohort to leverage N-ZAP resources and tools on climate budgeting.
Partnered with the Future Cities Institute at the University of Waterloo to provide students the opportunity to work on interdisciplinary capstone projects (i-Capstone) related to Regional climate change initiatives.
Participated in and supported the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Cities Initiative and Ontario Water Leaders Summit.
Partnered with the University of Waterloo’s Sustainability and Social Entrepreneurship Fellowship (SSEF) Program to provide students with the opportunity to explore sustainability in the municipal landscape.
