Advanced best practices for climate action through staff participation in conferences, courses and webinars, including those organized by Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), Green Municipal Fund (GMF), Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI), Six Nations of the Grand River, and Evergreen.
Staff conducted research and participated in continuous learning opportunities to ensure the Region remains up to date on the rapidly evolving field of climate actions including trends, knowledge, technology, regulations and policies and financial considerations.
A climate training program for Regional staff is currently under development with an anticipated roll out in 2025
An introductory Climate Change Training module for Regional staff was released in April 2025. Subsequent modules on other climate change topics are currently under development.
In 2025, staff participated in webinars, conferences and courses organized by Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), Green Municipal Fund (GMF), Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI), Climate Action Partnership (CAP), etc.
Staff continue to conduct research and participate in continuous learning opportunities to ensure the Region remains up to date on the evolving field of climate change.
